Anti-Bullying Week 2022

A Student Voice visit to Treloars ...

This week has been Anti-Bullying Week with its theme of Reaching Out. The theme came about following consultation with teachers and students by the Anti-Bullying Alliance which coordinates the Week every year. Teachers and children wanted a theme that empowered them to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.

The Week reminds everyone whether it’s in school, at home, in the community or online, to reach out and show each other the support we need.

As part of our ongoing discussions about anti-bullying and kindness, a group of Year 8 students visited Treloar College this week. There were some really interesting conversations between the two sets of students. They discussed how they each defined bullying, and then reflected not only on the times when they have reached out to someone in need, but when other students have reached out to them.  Finally, they talked about who they can all reach out to in school for support.

It was great to talk through the issue and to help ensure that reaching out becomes a part of all our lives.
