The Royal Navy put our prefects through their paces...
Last Friday we welcomed Lt Commander Russ Haines and his team to school to lead a fabulous training day for our student leadership team.
Lt Commander Haines has been working with us for a year in a voluntary capacity on career and enterprise matters, and offered to bring us a full day of training. He started with a really informative presentation on international leadership and the Royal Navy. From then on it was very much a practical day with the Navy's mobile training apparatus, which was similar to a large scale Meccano set!
There was an element of competition throughout the day and various problem-solving tasks. By the end of the day all our prefects agreed that it had not only helped their teamwork, team building and communication skills, but it had also been a lot of fun! RESULT!

Do the Maths! Year 10 students Libby, Evie, Jess and Cali took up the Alton School Maths Challenge this week. Working with four future Eggar's students from Bentley School, they tackled three rounds of very difficult problem-solving maths. They were fantastic ambassadors https://t.co/onVvrb3qcJ 10:18 PM - 25 Jun 2022

It's Fri-YAY and we're celebrating Matt D and his performance at the National Schools Biathle last weekend. He was placed 2nd in the Year 7 Boys race. (Biathle is an event that can involve a runswimrun course, or simply a swimrun course). #SoundsExhausting #GoMattGo https://t.co/pIe7RXQUpa 6:00 PM - 24 Jun 2022
