Celebrating success ...
Unfortunately due to COVID we were unable to have our normal glittering Awards Evening this year. However, that didn't stop a real sense of celebration yesterday morning as we presented awards to students for their work and achievements during another very difficult academic year. These included Subject Achievement and Tutor and Progress Leader Awards.
There were also the Special School Awards and the winners were ...
Roy Bone Memorial Sports Trophy:
Sammy (10ALS) for his amazing achievements in hockey this year as he worked his way through various county and regional selections to make the England U16 team.
Michael Newman Award for most improved in KS3 English:
Lauren (8MCD) for her excellent attitude in class — engaged and interested in all we've done with thoughtful contributions to class discussions.
Linda Campbell Cheery Resilience Award:
Poppy (9MSP) for her abundance of cheeriness and is certainly resilient. She is an absolute delight, never complains and ‘just gets on with it!’
Sylvia Vine Citizenship Award:
Chloe (10MJB) has cooked and distributed meals to those who struggled during recent lockdowns using local ingredients from the community larder. An amazing achievement.
Head Teacher’s Innovation Award:
Jamie (9ALH) for his enthusiasm and interest in anything tech-related! Jamie has started to collect an ever-increasing range of computers and has taken the initiative to restore and update these systems.
Congratulations to each one of our award winners this year. You have all been exceptional.
