A brilliant bake to help home learning!
If you need a break and something to do for less than hour, our 'Recipe of the Month' couldn't be easier - and just when you might need some tasty, extra energy. Mrs Smith brings you her classic flapjack recipe from The Great Eggar's Cookbook. It serves 12 and takes only 45 minutes!
Ingredients
- 100g butter
- 100g light brown soft sugar
- 4tbsp golden syrup
- 280g oats
- 70g mixture of seeds and dried fruit like dried cranberries, dried apricots, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds.
Method
1. Pre heat the oven to 180C. Melt the butter, syrup and sugar together then stir in the oats and the seeds and fruit. Press into a greased 23cm x 23cm tin and bake for 20 minutes.
2. Remove from the oven and mark into 16 squares straight away with a sharp knife. Leave to cool in the tin then carefully remove.
And more good news - this freezes very well so you could make a double batch!
