The Oxford University Experience

Eggar's Alumni Zac leads January's Lecture Club

For anyone thinking of applying to Oxford or Cambridge University, this month's Lecture Club was perfect!

Zak left Eggar's in 2017 and was Deputy Head Boy. He took 4 A levels at Alton College and has only been at Merton College, Oxford since September. However he was delighted to come back and share the experiences of his first term. He was passionate about getting state schools to provide an accurate picture of life at an Oxbridge University.

He clearly remembers the moment when he decided he wanted to apply to Oxford:  a Year 10 trip to St Edmund Hall! Since starting he has helped out with the Merton College Junior Common Room Access and Outreach schemes, as well as training as a University of Oxford Admissions and Outreach Ambassador.

Zak delivered a really insightful presentation, with loads of pertinent advice about undergraduate life.  He took many questions from his attentive audience  - who took plenty of notes!

A big thank you to Zak.
