The 'purrfect' Christmas treat!
On December 6, 80 Year 7 and 8 students went to see 'Dick Whittington'at the Theatre Royal, Winchester. Dick seeks his fame and fortune in a London bedevilled by the sinister King Rat and his rabble of Revolting Rodents. It was a production filled with hilarious jokes, original songs and loads of audience participation as Dick and his cat went on their madcap adventures.
Here's what 2 Year 7 students, Dimitrios and Madison thought of the production:
"We were immediately greeted by a large, beautifully decorated theatre, with a variety of food and drink available to keep us happy during the performance.
We liked that even though the actors made a few mistakes, they carried on and this made it more comedic. It was really funny and made us laugh a lot. The show was really great, especially when they were talking about someone stealing the "nice, nickle necklace" and who had "nicked the nice nickle necklace". It made us giggle extra hard.
In the performance, a wide range of colourful characters were introduced with fantastic backdrops, with the utilisation of special effects and great expressions, it made you feel like you were really there, especially as they interacted with the audience".
And what score did our 2 reviewers give the show?
Madison: The score would be a 9/10 as I thought it was wonderful
Dimitrios: Overall I thought this performance is a laugh for all ages, with brilliant mockery. The story flowed well and ultimately it came together as a great performance 9/10

Campaign to develop our Performing Arts
Our quest to provide the very best facilities and opportunities!
In order to achieve our goals in providing the very best possible learning and extra-curricular opportunities for our students, we need to pro-actively fundraise and seek grants.
Our prime area for development is currently focused on our Performing Arts. We have set ourselves the target of raising £100,000 to refurbish and extend our outdated Drama Studio and transform it into a stellar, state-of-the-art faculty. We would love your help! We have launched a fund-raising campaign through donatemyschool.
