Congratulations to Clara in Year 7 for receiving a Highly Commended award from Poetry by Heart judges this year. Poetry by Heart is an annual national competition which requires students to learn two poems by heart and perform them.

As winner of Eggar’s Key Stage 3 school competition, Clara’s performance video was submitted to the national competition. Clara chose to perform the poems ‘I’m Nobody! Who are you?’ by Emily Dickinson and ‘Time’ by Valerie Bloom.

In their feedback, the judges said, ‘You have a lovely clear voice and we enjoyed the lively way you engaged with the poem and made it your own.’ Well done, Clara!
