The transition from primary to secondary school is made easier by the warm, caring, and supportive atmosphere at Eggar’s. Being a smaller school, we have the opportunity to know each of our students really well, which creates a strong support network and a welcoming, engaging community.
Our transition teamwork closely with families and the Primary Schools to ensure that we can make the move to Eggar's as smooth as possible.
As soon as we hear that you have been allocated a space in March, we invite you to join us at a welcome event where we share the transition journey and answer any questions you might have about the process.
We want every new member of the Eggar's family to feel confident and ready for their first day in September. To ensure this, we create a wide range of opportunities for your children to spend time at Eggar's getting to know the staff, the site and other students during years 4,5 and 6. We do this through our after school Discover Eggar's events, our Getting to Know You days (specifically for students where 5 or fewer members of their school are joining Eggar's), our Transition Day and our Discover Eggar's Summer camp.
In addition, we create bespoke transition packages for students who would benefit from enhanced transition with a greater number of opportunities to visit the school.
