Eggar’s have been working hard to bring a real sense of community over the last couple of weeks. There has been an amazing collection of food for the Alton Food Bank, and it was topped off by welcoming back over 100 senior citizens from around the town.  

Head Teacher Sarah Holman said, “The whole school was very excited to welcome our special guests to the Senior Citizens' Christmas Party. As the new Head Teacher, it was lovely to mingle with the 'regulars', some of whom were Eggar's Alumni or former parents, and to join in the festive musical entertainment. It was a joyous event and enabled our students to shine. Reaching out to the community is important to us at Eggar's, and I am not sure who enjoyed it more - the students, teachers, or our visitors!"

The Eggar's catering team whipped up a full Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. The students served the food and chatted with the guests, making them feel most welcome. 

The afternoon included entertainment, with well-known festive songs and an Eggar's tradition of 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' performed by Year 11 students. This year the entertainment included a musical duet on the piano with Mrs Holman and solo performances by the students. 

Mince pies and tea were served by the PTA before an amazing raffle draw took place. Prizes had been very kindly donated by Eggar's staff and local businesses.
