Home Learning
At Eggar’s, we believe home learning should be purposeful, engaging and closely linked to what students are learning in class. Well-designed home learning helps students develop good study habits, practise key skills, deepen their understanding and become more independent learners.

These tasks are designed to:

- Encourage students to apply their learning in greater depth
- Promote creativity, research and wider reading
- Provide opportunities for challenge and personal development
ASPIRE tasks will be set at the beginning of each half term and will be due at the end of the half term, giving students flexibility to complete them around other commitments.
Celebrating Success
We are proud to recognise students who produce outstanding home learning.
Exceptional work may be rewarded through:
- House Points
- Headteacher Commendations
- Sharing exemplary work through school communications and celebrations
If home learning is not completed
We believe that home learning is an important part of every student's education and should be completed on time.
Where home learning is not submitted, the school will work with students to help them meet expectations. This may include:
- Support and reminders from the class teacher
- Lunchtime support sessions to complete outstanding work
- After-school completion sessions where work is repeatedly missed
Our aim is to support students in developing the organisation, responsibility and study habits that will help them succeed both in school and beyond.
How parents can help
Parents and carers can support home learning by:
- Encouraging regular study routines at home
- Checking Satchel One regularly
- Ensuring work is completed by the deadline
- Providing a quiet space for study where possible
- Contacting the school if their child is experiencing difficulties completing home learning
Working together, we can help every student develop the knowledge, skills and habits needed for success.
