Student Voice

At Eggar’s School we value the contribution made by our students in the day-to-day provision and further development of the school. 

There are many opportunities for our students to have a say in the running and further improvement of our school. Students are encouraged to involve themselves in a wide variety of student forums including:

Seperate Upper and Lower School Student Voice Youth Parliament Elections
The Prefect System Online Student Voice Surveys
More Able and Talented Programme Pupil Premium Student Voice
Youth Alton Climate Action Network  

 

Student Voice has used feedback from meetings to bring positive change in school. I had suggested a new food menu and queuing system and it was brought into action.

Student voice impacted the school positively as it takes opinions and ideas from the school pupils and is used to help improve the school.

The below changes have been made in response to meetings with our Student Voice reps: 

New House Point Shop New Eggar's Reads books for Year 9 and 10 A book suggestions box in the library
Access to revision material, including past papers Small group sizes for after school revision sessions Innovate food menu and queuing system
Rewards Events, including Thorpe Park rewards trip Residentials and extra-curricular club ideas

As outstanding ambassadors for Eggar’s School, our students play an integral part in the effective running of school events. They act as guides to visitors and are ‘front of house’ for most of our annual events including Open Evening, Presentation Evening, Awards Evening and all of our parent consultation evenings, concerts and plays.
