Girls U15 team perform brilliantly at National Hardball Cricket Tournament

Sports Reporter: Emily Pascoe

The girls U15 cricket team went to Kingston Grammar School in London to compete in the National Hardball Cricket Tournament.  We had 3 matches in the day. The first was against Hurstpierpoint, with Eggar's fielding first. Despite Hurst scoring a mighty 91 runs from 10 overs, Eggar’s matched this total thanks to a great batting performance from all the girls and an excellent 6 from Molly Abley. The second match was against Ardingly School. They scored 57 which Eggar's chased down easily without losing a wicket!

The last game of the day was against Kingston Grammar School. By now the sun was blazing down and confidence remained high. However we unfortunately lost the match by 27 runs.

It was great to see the younger players stepping up  in these matches as the majority of the team are in Year 10 so will not be playing next year. We feel the team is in good hands. We all really enjoyed the day and it was great to play as a school team against opposition of a similar standard to us.
