As a school that holds reading for pleasure, for wellbeing and for learning, at the core of our values, we have launched a new initiative.

Eggar’s Reads is an opportunity, twice a week in tutor time, for our students to benefit from a wonderfully calm and relaxing start to the day while they sit back and enjoy being transported to a different world as their tutor shares a novel with them.

Just before the half-term break, we called upon any budding designers to create a logo for Eggar’s Reads. This was a House competition and all entries earned points, with the winner earning 500 points! The entries were judged by a professional team of Graphic Designers Coco and Bella.

The students that entered all received very positive feedback from professional designers, Coco & Bella:

'We were honoured to be invited to judge the students' logo designs and were so impressed with the standard of what they produced. They had all put a lot of thought and time into their designs and were able to confidently explain their creations to us. It was very difficult to choose a winner because there were elements that we liked about all the logos. However, we felt that Zack's logo in particular was very clever as he really encapsulated his enthusiasm for reading with an engaging yet simple design concept. Eggar's School definitely has some budding designers and this competition was a fantastic way for them to show their love of reading as well as their creative talent - well done to all who took part!'

Congratulations to Zack B in Year 10 and our runners up who have all received a Head Teacher commendation certificate.
