A perfect way to end the term!
"The afternoon went by so quickly. I am already looking forward to next year’s……”
We were delighted to welcome 110 of Alton’s Senior Citizens to our annual Christmas party. The morning started with Years 7, 8 and 9 Charity Representatives decorating each of the tables.
Our Year 10 CoPE students, led by Miss Hey, greeted our guests and Eggar’s PTA served mulled wine before students served a traditional Christmas turkey lunch with all the trimmings. Compliments go to our catering department.
The afternoon continued with well known festive songs with our compère Miss Eni-Olotu and The Twelve Days of Christmas performed by Year 11 students. Mince pies and tea were served before an amazing raffle with prizes donated by the Alton House Hotel, Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Garthowen Garden Centre and Eggar’s Staff.
We must also mention our fabulous site team and Top Marks for providing complementary travel. The afternoon was once again a huge success and we had many messages of praise for our young people from our guests. Well done everyone and thank you for making it such a memorable and festive occasion.
Mary, a local resident from Anstey commented:
“This was the 4th time I have been invited to the Eggar’s School Senior Citizens Party. I was sat with other guests, some of whom I had met before at last year’s party. We were on a table beautifully decorated by the children of 7JBe, and made extra special by the very attentive Jemimah & Francesca the Charity Reps from the table’s tutor group who were serving us and talking to us.
The entertainment, raffle & the food were all fabulous. It is always a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and it is lovely of the school to arrange this".
