Over the last couple of weeks, our Design & Technology Department have played host to twelve members of Alresford Girl Guides, helping them to design and make wooden flowers.  Mr Waite ran two evening sessions and the girls learnt about the properties of wood and how to design using the structure of the grain. They used tenon saws, coping saws, rasps, pillar drills and hand drills to make their flowers. 

Mr Waite commented: 
‘The girls have been incredible, working with a high level of accuracy to produce some lovely work. They’ve been an absolute delight to teach – we certainly have cabinetmakers of the future here.'
