SportsLines: Girls Cricket

A busy week for our Year 9 and 10 cricketers...

The girls got their district season off to a great start with a comfortable win against Amery Hill, scoring 88 for 4 off 10 overs after Amery had posted 48 for 9.  Ten of our girls bowled which shows how much of an all-round team they are. Players of the match were Jess and Charlotte.

On Thursday they were the only state school playing in the Hampshire Cup competition! The girls did the school proud but their opponents, the current county champions Churcher's College were just too strong. They had such an experienced team including two county players. However, our girls showed real spirit and for four of the team, it was their first game of hardball cricket ever! Gemma F. was our player of the match, with wickets shared between Jess (2), Charlotte and Ellie.

An amazing week of cricket. Congratulations girls!
