Restart a Heart Day 2017

Learning how to save a life

On Monday 16th October Year 8, 9 and 10 students took part in the national ‘Restart a Heart’ campaign. They were trained by Southern Ambulance and Fire Service colleagues who  took groups  through the step-by-step process of responding to someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest.  A fantastic opportunity to learn a life-saving and life-changing skill.

If you suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK you have less than a one in ten chance of surviving. 'Restart a Heart Day' is an annual initiative which aims to change that by training as many people as possible in CPR in one day, so that more people know these life saving skills.
