Who's Who on our Governing Body?



Lisa Hillan (Chair of the Governing Body)

"I became a parent governor here in February 2013 and chair of governors in September 2014.  I’m a member of the Curriculum Students and Environment Committee, but also attend the Finance and Personnel Committee meetings to help me understand the big picture. I’ve been a governor at Chawton C of E Primary School since March 2008, and chair the curriculum committee.   When my son and daughter were at Chawton, I was a parent governor; now I’m a foundation governor. Before moving to England in 2007, I administered graduate-level legal training programmes at the University of San Diego, where I obtained by Doctor of Jurisprudence.  Earlier in my career, I taught high school English in Illinois."

"I have been a Governor for over 20 years in a variety of schools in Hampshire, across the age ranges. I have, during that time, served in a variety of roles - parent, staff, community and local authority.
I am also currently a Governor at a school in Aldershot.
At Eggar's I am on the Curriculum, Students and Environment committee."

"An in-house lawyer and mother of four children, the eldest two of which currently attend Eggar's, with my son due to start in September. I have been a parent governor at Eggar's for two years now, having previously held the same position at a local infant school for 6 years prior to that. I am currently Chair of the Finance & Personnel Committee."

"I have been a parent governor for the last four years and, with my term of office ending in November 2015 and my three children now having left the school, I am very pleased to have been invited to continue serving the school as a community governor.  For the last two years I have been chair of the Curriculum, Students and Environment Committee, and I will continue in that role."

As well as being a Governor at Eggar's, currently serving on the Curriculum Student and Environment Committee, I am a Governor and past Chair at Wootey Junior School where I am on the Finance & Rosources Committee."

I was co-opted to the Eggar's governing body as a Community Governor in December 2014.  This is my first appointment as a Governor.  I have two children, both at Eggar’s."

"I have been a teacher of Maths here at Eggar’s for six years and am also currently a Year 10 tutor.  I have been a governor for five years and am a member of the Finance & Personnel Committee."

"I have been Curriculum Leader for English at Eggar’s for five years and am also a Year 10 tutor. As a Governor, I am a member of the Curriculum, Standards & Environment Committee."

Martin Green

I was a parent governor at Anstey Junior School for seven years, with experience of senior staff recruitment, and both Finance and Curriculum committees.
Historically I have been involved in community work with Alton Cricket club, including a recent spell as Chairman, having previously coached and organised teams

I am a retired Local Authority officer, with experience in Health & Safety, management of staff and Project Management, and am currently employed supporting students at Treloars;
I was President of Alton Rotary Club (July 2015)
